WHAT A WEEKEND
This weekend Aquila dominated the Danish special saloon-car
championship at Ring Djursland,
The weekend had for the special saloon-car drivers on time
session and 3 races of 18 minutes. The weather was a mix of heavy
rain and sunshine, but no matter of the weather conditions,
the two Aquila Drivers was time after time showing the capability's
of the car.
The weekend started of with Claus setting a pole position in
his CR1 LS7, during a very wet time session. with more than 2
seconds to his closest competitor.
The fist heat was a certainly a crowdpleaser. Claus started
from pole from where he was leading the race, until he span of, but
even though his stand still he manged to overtake the all the
driver except Dennis who during the 18 minutes drove his car
perfectly from the back of the grid to a front, winning the race,
with Claus right behind him. Unfortunately Claus made the mistake
of overtaking in the yellow flag zone, which released a time
penalty, that took him down to the 4. place.
During this race Claus beat the 10 year old track record,
driving a insanely fast lap of 49,283..
Heat 2 was yet again great for the spectators and for both
Aquila´s. During a wet sprint Claus show his skills in the wet
leading the race from start to finish, as he finished the 18
minutes of racing he was 9,6 seconds ahead of number
2.
Between Heat 2 and 3 the sun came back from behind the
clouds and the track was dry again.
The 3. heat was like the two first dominated by Aquila
drivers. Claus took the victory with Dennis in the second
position.
All in All a great weekend with loads of good racing and
allot of trophy's to bring back..
Massive well done to both of the drivers and everyone
involved in this spectacular race weekend.
