Formula Ford has long
been a class where young drivers make the leap
from karting into the more serious racing. It's a class
running without much aerodynamics that teaches young drivers
how a car behaves without the aid of down force being created from
huge wings.
This season in Denmark it is now possible to debut in
Formula Ford at an even younger age than previously.
In 2011, it was only from the day when you
turned 15 years old that you could be eligible to
compete in the Danish Formula Ford series. But the
Danish Automobile Sports Union (DASU) has changed this,
by allowing you to start the racing in the calendar
year you turn 15 years old. This means
that everyone who is born in 1997
or earlier can participate in this
year's Danish Formula Ford Championship.

Last season Auto Tech Racing, a student racing
team from Aarhus Tech in Denmark
competed as debutants in the
Danish Formula Ford championship, finishing
2nd and 4th in the Zetec class with two
Aquila FZ1's. Auto Tech Racing is preparing for
the upcoming season in the Danish Formula
Ford series and invites sponsors and
drivers interested to an open house
at Aarhus Tech in Aarhus, Denmark. There will
be opportunity to see the facilities, the cars and
meet the students and teachers. Aarhus Tech has just
invested in new premises with a dyno facility,
engine bench and a large workshop with the
latest tools and diagnostic equipment.

Auto Tech Racing pupils are
taught in data logging, engine management,
troubleshooting, management and optimization of
cars to be
Automotive Technologists with the opportunity to
work as race engineers, trouble-shooters and
workshop supervisors.
The event will be held on Tuesday 21st of
February Auto Tech Racing's premises in
Denmark, There will be a light meal with soft
drinks, beer, coffee and tea.
