OSS Championship welcomes the CR1

The Aquila CR1 is now eligable for
the BRSCC OSS championship. The UK based championship has now sent
confirmation to Aquila HQ stating that all versions of the CR1 are
welcome in the championship with additional comments "In fact
the CR1 would be a very welcome addition to our grid because the
cars look fantastic."
The Championship is administered by
the BRSCC but run by 2 motor racing enthusiasts. Steve Griffiths a
long time sports racing competitor who devised the OSS format and
Alan Jenkins the coordinator who has a long background in motor
sport organisation. It is an engineer friendly championship and is
almost restriction free. There are no restrictions on fuel, tyres,
engine power or weight, this is to encourage engineering within the
championship and once this was brought to Aquila's attention we
immediately begun talks with the championship organisers. All
versions of the CR1 will compete in Class A with no additional
ballast or power restrictions.

The OSS format was devised with the club competitor in mind. The
Championship is run over 14 rounds at 7 double header weekends.
Race day format is 20 minutes free practice which allows
competitors who can't afford the time or cost of pre meeting
testing to try new set ups before qualifying, 15 minutes qualifying
and two 20 minute races. Entry fees are very competitive on a cost
per track time basis with all other UK championships. Another
unique feature of the OSS Championship is that competitors can
share a car doing 1 race each and still compete for the
Championship as a pair. Ideal for keeping costs, and add this to
the low running costs on the CR1 and you have a winning combination
for some "Low budget" racing.
Do you currently own a CR1 and have no plans where to race this
season? Take your pride and joy to the UK where you can be one of
the first to show the CR1 off in the OSS championship.
